Our Projects.

Moving Mountains is actively leading projects to help rebuild homes devastated by Hurricane Helene, bringing hope and stability back to communities that lost so much. Our team is working alongside volunteers, local partners, local businesses and generous sponsors to repair roofs, install doors and windows, rebuild kitchens, and restore safe living spaces for families who were left with nothing. Each project is a step toward healing, not just physically but emotionally—proving that even after the storm, compassion and determination can move mountains.

Mr. Tipton's Home-Limestone, TN

Mr. Tipton is a 93-year-old veteran whose home was devastated by the catastrophic flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. A man who once served his country with strength and dignity found himself facing overwhelming loss—but thanks to the kindness of others, he is not facing it alone. Rebuilding his home has become a mission of love, community, and honor. From replacing floors and walls to installing essential systems like plumbing, HVAC, and windows, every step has been a testament to what can be done when hearts and hands come together.

We are incredibly grateful for the many partners who have made this possible. Thank you to the Amish and Mennonite communities for their tireless craftsmanship and selfless labor. Deepest thanks to Steve Huff Plumbing, Heating and Air, Climate ControllersJ Ross ConglomerateWindow World of the Tri-CitiesMission 72Leatherwood Lions DenEast Tennessee Case Works         ; General ShaleGod’s Warehouse, and PPG Paints, Johnson City,  for stepping up with materials, manpower, and support. So excited to complete this project and get Mr. Tipton back in his home where he belongs.

Bean Sprout Cafe-Hartford, TN

The Bean Sprout, a beloved locally owned coffee shop in Hartford, TN, has long been a gathering place for the community—and during the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Helene, they stepped up to help others, even while facing damage of their own. We were honored to come alongside them and offer support in their time of need. With the help of generous donors and volunteers, we were able to assist with new windows, drywall, insulation, a dishwasher, and microwaves to help restore their space.

A special thank you goes out to Mission 72 and all the incredible volunteers who showed up to lend a hand. Your time, donations, and hard work helped make it possible to get the Bean Sprout back open and serving the community they love so well. Together, we’re rebuilding more than just buildings—we’re restoring hope, one cup at a time.

Hopson Chapel-Roan Mountain, TN

Testimonial from Hopson Chapel:

When hurricane Helene brought so much destruction to our community, there was a lot of hurting folks left in its wake. As a small mountain church we prayed for God to help and furnish the needs of folks affected by this historical disaster. One stormy night I saw a post that had our church tagged in it. The post had pictures of supplies under our carport in the parking lot. Not just a few things but a load of supplies needed by our community. We didn’t know who or where all these things come from. It was at that time our church and community came to know Susan Harp and Moving Mountains She was most definitely a God send to the Tiger Valley/ Tiger Creek community of Roan Mtn Tennessee. Their efforts and labor of love didn’t stop that night. They continued to help our community with needed supplies. Because of the efforts and compassion our church became a relief center. We were able to deliver food, propane, gas for generators to the folks without power. Our fellowship hall looked like Walmart. Our church itself was also blessed through their dedication to helping. Moving Mountains helped us financially to clean and restore our sanctuary. They went above and beyond to do all they could for so many families with help of God. It was through their actions that that learned a new meaning of mustard seed Faith. God sent bulldozer size blessings to a hurting community. There is more that they have done since and we couldn’t be more blessed than to have Moving Mountains as a friend. ~Pastor James Hill❤️
